“You see, at simply the correct time, after we have been powerless, Christ died for the ungodly.” Romans 5:6
This previous weekend one other sudden hearth hit our little mountain city. Laughter and pleasure of celebrating my daughter’s birthday rapidly morphed into anxiousness, dread and worry. Reflecting on my feelings after seeing the helicopters and planes clear up immediately, I’m left with the overwhelming feeling of powerlessness.
Most fires have an unknown origin. They seem abruptly, with the wind its driving drive, leaving horrible destruction.
When the hearth got here inside ¼ mile of our house, the wind modified path. I do know that God controls the wind and am grateful to him that our home was preserved.
Sin is sort of a consuming hearth. It is usually insatiable and destroys all the pieces it touches. With out Christ, oddly we felt indestructible and assured, completely having fun with the passing pleasures of sin.
We have been snug, not realizing we have been slaves to the wishes that might take us finally to our everlasting destruction.
When the reality got here to our ears, worry gripped our hearts. However we have been unable and with out energy to alter. Then nice sorrow and dreadfulness overcame us.
Now allow us to marvel on the goodness and mercy of God. After we have been nonetheless powerless, in due time, Christ died for the ungodly.
Then, similar to the wind that goes the place it needs, the Spirit got here to us granting repentance and we believed.
What about you? Are you snug in what you like to do? Don’t quiet your conscience. The flames of sin can convey you rapidly to an everlasting place you don’t need to go.
Could the Lord change the wind in your life, bringing you his Spirit who alone can protect your soul.
Treasured Lord Jesus, we weren’t solely ungodly, however unable to alter. Thanks to your nice mercy as you introduced us nice deliverance in such a hopeless state. We reward you for preserving our souls now and forevermore!
