When fears and worries overwhelm
then give me braveness, Lord,
to “preserve it in right now…”
When darkness tempts and beckons me
then draw me to the sunshine.
let your face shine vivid upon me…
When straightforward solutions appear sufficient
then lead me to your phrase
that in your fact I will be let out…
When indignant grudges weigh me down
then educate me to forgive
as you’ve pardoned me…
When gossip’s brewing in my ideas
then bless my speech with kindness,
put your phrase upon my lips…
When my coronary heart grows resentful
then let me see how a lot is mine
of all you’ve got freely given…
After I’m discerning proper from mistaken
then give me knowledge, Lord,
to decide on as you’d do…
When time for me is all I’ve
then open me to others, Lord,
to serve you of their wants…
After I’ve run out of phrases to hope,
then assist me pay attention, Lord
to listen to what you’d say to me…
And when all is claimed and performed, Lord
then let all I say and all I do
be mild, simply and loving…
