Poignant service marks begin of Queen’s mendacity in state

The Archbishop of Canterbury led a brief however poignant service after the arrival of the Queen’s coffin in Westminster Corridor.

The coffin was carried on a gun carriage from Buckingham Palace to Westminster adopted by King Charles III and members of the royal household. 

Because the coffin was carried into Westminster Corridor, the choir of Westminster Abbey and the choir of His Majesty’s Chapel Royal, St James’s Palace, sang Psalm 139. The choirs later sang the motet, “Jesus, the Very Considered Thee”.

The Archbishop of Canterbury mentioned a gap prayer and skim John 14:1-6 wherein Jesus comforts his disciples forward of his crucifixion and guarantees to organize a spot for them in his Father’s home. 

Extra prayers had been supplied by the Dean of Westminster, the Very Rev Dr David Hoyle. 

The King and different members of the royal household remained standing in the course of the brief service. 

After the service, the primary mourners filed previous to pay their respects, a few of them having waited in line since Monday.
