Pause for Prayer: SUNDAY 5/8

The Lord is my shepherd; there may be nothing I shall need.
Contemporary and inexperienced are the meadows the place he provides me repose.
Close to restful waters he leads me, to revive my drooping spirit.
He guides me alongside the appropriate path;he’s true to his identify.
You might be there together with your criminal and your employees;
with these you give me consolation…
Psalm 23

A spot the place I would like for nothing?
Meadows, contemporary and inexperienced?
Restful waters to elevate my spirits?
Sounds nice — I am there, Lord!

Effectively, truly, it is extra like I wish to get there
and since on many days I am not there,
I simply would possibly want somebody
to steer me on the appropriate path, in the appropriate course –
        somebody to shepherd me…

I would like somebody such as you, Lord, to shepherd me
from nagging issues and troubles and fears,
from too many worries and distractions
that maintain me from simply that peaceable place inside me
        the place you wait, patiently,
look forward to me to quiet down and relaxation
within the peace that solely you can provide…

Give me grace to search out this place of peace,
the place I typically miss
as a result of I run to quick or waste my time

or start to assume that I could make it alone,
with out your assist, with out you there
to shepherd me and to information me…

With out your shepherd’s lead – I lose my approach,
with out your shepherd’s criminal – I’m going astray,
with out your shepherd’s voice to name my identify
I wander in darkish valleys, in confusion and in worry…

However I do know you are by my aspect, Lord,
at all times displaying me the way in which
and discovering me after I run off on my own…

Be my shepherd, Lord:
    lead me and information me
to the meadows of your peace…

Amen.
