Thomas was a doubter, Lord:
he wanted to see
your struggling’s wounds
earlier than he’d consider
your risen glory…
I am a doubter, too, Lord:
I typically keep away from
the marks of your ache,
wanting solely the balm
of your therapeutic contact…
However the way in which of the Cross
is the trail to your peace:
there isn’t any different strategy to get there…
My very own wounds, Lord
mark exactly the place
the place you come to fulfill me:
mending my soul,
therapeutic my doubts,
inviting me into your peace…
Like Thomas, Lord, I doubt
and so I pray for the reward of religion…
And like Thomas, I consider:
Lord, assist my unbelief…
