Tomorrow’s scripture tells me:
The phrase is close to you
in your mouth and in your coronary heart…

Your phrase could also be close to, Lord,
however I do not hear it!

Is it a phrase I have been needing to listen to?
ready to listen to?
longing to listen to?
straining to listen to?

Or may or not it’s a phrase I do not need to hear?
A phrase I’ve tuned out?
A phrase I’ve ignored?
A phrase I’ve denied?

Is it a phrase of therapeutic and luxury?
Or a phrase of problem, a name to vary?

Would possibly or not it’s a phrase you name me to share?
Or is it a phrase you’d have me maintain?

Is it a phrase of pardon and mercy?
of fact and knowledge?
of path and steering?

I want a phrase from you, Lord.
I need to hear your phrase for me
in my coronary heart, in my thoughts,
in my ideas, in my soul
within the silence of my prayer
earlier than a phrase is spoken…

No matter your phrase for me, Lord,
I belief and  I do know you converse it in peace
and with kindness and endurance
and love…

On this season Lent, Lord,
open my thoughts, my coronary heart and my prayer
to listen to the phrase you converse to me
and provides the braveness to behave in your phrase,
no matter your phrase could also be…

Communicate, Lord,
I like to pay attention on your voice:
converse, Lord,
your servant is close to…

Amen.
