Pause for Prayer: FR6IDAY 5/6

A brand new day’s forward of me, Lord,
and I am questioning who or what’s
    gonna be my boss?
    handle my time?
deliver me down? elevate me up?
affect my choices? form my needs?
drain my vitality? cost me up?
coloration my temper? deliver me to tears?
flip my head? seize my consideration?
    seduce me? encourage me?
    hang-out my ideas? consolation me?
level the way in which? stroll by my aspect?

I’ve received quite a lot of bosses, Lord
– and simply as many masters:
    worry… fantasy… my schedule… the previous… resentments…
    nervousness… boredom… pleasure… my job… satisfaction… disappointment…
    self-doubt… sickness… routine… relationships… harm…
    food and drinks… substances… disappointments… fear…
    guilt… loneliness… debt… laziness… grudges…
As I stated, Lord, a number of bosses who can
    maintain me from following you,
maintain me from leaning on grace,
maintain me from understanding your mercy,
maintain me from doing what I wish to do,
from turning into the particular person I wish to be,
from discovering the peace I lengthy for,
that peace solely present in you…

Free me, Lord,
    from anybody or something
that retains me from you, your mercy and love….
    from anybody or something
that retains me from rising in grace and prayer…
    from anybody or something
that retains me from strolling the Spirit’s path…
    from anybody or something
that hurts my coronary heart or sours my soul…
    from anybody or something
that retains me understanding the your knowledge and reality…
    from anybody or something
that retains me from being wholesome and complete…
    from anybody or something

that retains me from discovering the present of pleasure…
    from anybody or something
that retains me from turning into the particular person
you created and made me to be…

Be the boss of my life at the moment, Lord,
and the grasp of all my coronary heart’s needs…

Amen.
