A Harmony Pastor Feedback: NIGHT PRAYER: Tuesday 3/15

My evenings are usually peaceable, Lord:

I learn a bit, work on my prayer posts,

watch reruns on television and fall quick asleep,

first in my recliner after which in mattress…

However tonight I need to pray for all of the thousands and thousands

all over the world and near house

whose nights are bleak,

crammed with the noise of struggle,

    the cries of hungry youngsters,

    the misery of illness,

    the horror of abuse,

    the anxiousness of poverty…

And I pray for individuals who lose their sleep

    to nightmares of worry

        and nagging ideas of self-doubt,

to the lonely echoes of a grieving coronary heart,

and the restlessness of a troubled soul,

to reminiscences that taunt and hang-out

and worries far too many to let go…

And I pray for individuals who work  all evening

to serve the wants of those that have

no place, no relaxation, no sleep, no peace

to fulfill tomorrow’s wants…

Open my coronary heart and my assets, Lord,

in help of those that’ll spend this evening

awake, in worry, away from house,

whereas I drift off to sleep…

Defend me, Lord, whereas I am awake

and watch over me as I sleep

that awake, I’d hold watch with you

and asleep relaxation in your peace…

Amen.

Oh Lord, don’t hold me up all evening

Facet by facet with the moon

With its desolate eyes

Miles from the dawn

The darkness inviting a tune

The Insomniac’s Lullaby

A siren is enjoying its music within the distance
The melody rattles the outdated window body
Steadily, angels reveal their existence
And there’s nothing and nobody responsible
Oh Lord, don’t hold me up all evening
Facet by facet with the moon
Alone within the mattress
The season forward
Is winter that lasts till June
The Insomniac’s Lullaby

Sleep…

They are saying all roads result in a river
Then sooner or later
The river comes as much as your door
How will the builder of bridges ship us all
To the faraway shore
Oh Lord, don’t hold me up all evening
With questions I can’t perceive
Whereas I wrestle my fears
The sound in my ears
Is the music that’s sweeping the land
The Insomniac’s Lullaby

Sleep…

Mushy as a rose
The sunshine from the East
As if all is forgiven
And wolves turn into sheep
We’re who we’re
Or we’re not
However at the least
We’ll finally all go to sleep
Finally all go to sleep
