A Devotional by Kathy Cheek

I wish to be counted amongst those that deliberately draw close to to Jesus—close to to the One who saved us, loves us, and pours immeasurable grace and mercy into our lives; the One who leads and guides us, strengthens us, and by no means leaves us alone.

I keep in mind others lengthy earlier than me who’re identified for drawing close to:

I keep in mind Mary, on the ft of Jesus.

I keep in mind John, the beloved disciple, leaning on the chest of our Lord.

I keep in mind David, the psalmist whose soul thirsted for God.

I keep in mind Enoch, strolling shut beside Him—so shut, in reality, that God simply walked him on as much as heaven, utterly bypassing dying.

The listing may go on and on. I need my identify to be included with those that have deeply desired intimate communion and fellowship with the Lord. Don’t you?

I wish to draw close to to the Lord who wakens me every morning and jogs my memory that this new day He has made is a day to be glad. And I’m glad—deep-in-my-heart glad that I’m His and He’s mine. I’m grateful that I’ve the privilege of strolling in shut relationship with Him.

Let’s dwell every day for Him and with Him and be counted close to. There is no such thing as a higher place to be.

Psalm 145:18 “The LORD is close to to all who name upon Him, to all who name upon Him in reality.”
