A Harmony Pastor Feedback: Pause for Prayer: TUESDAY 8/23

A summer season’s drought has parched and burned the season’s vegetation so this afternoon’s rain, this night’s showers have been most welcome! This is the most recent model of a prayer I have been tweaking over time since I first posted it in 2008…

Let your therapeutic soak me, Lord,
as a tough, regular rain:
    your mercy, a heavy downpour,
your reign, a summer season bathe…

Soak me, drench me
– all however drown me!

Depart me dripping, moist
with moist anointings
of your freely given grace:
my toes and each inch of me
    refreshed and cleansed
    in showers robust and bracing…

Raise my face in pleasure, Lord,
refresh me along with your rain:
    let me drink it in
    and drink it down, deep,
till my thirst for you is quenched…

Rain, rain, reign of God,
rain down on me
and by no means, ever go away…
