A Harmony Pastor Feedback: NIGHT PRAYER: Sunday 12/4

“A voice of 1 crying out within the desert,
‘Put together the best way of the Lord, make straight his paths.'”
Your one voice calls me, Lord:
you converse to my coronary heart
in all its dry and barren locations,
within the wilderness my life can typically be…
You name me by identify
to arrange a approach for you
who come to make of my wilderness
a lush and blooming backyard…
You name me to vary,
to vary my wishes, my habits, my methods:
to clear a clean path
so that you can come to make your house in me…
You name me to make peace
the place I’m, the place I reside,
the place I work and the place I play
with all I meet and know,
whose paths cross mine every day…
Of all of the voices ‘spherical me, Lord,
attune my ears to yours
calling me to clear a path,
a approach into my coronary heart…
Shield me, Lord, whereas I am awake
and watch over me whereas I sleep
that awake, I would maintain look ahead to you
and asleep, relaxation in your peace…
Amen.
It is arduous to consider that it was 32 years in the past that I sang lead vocal on Rachel Burckardt’s lovely Creation tune, One Voice. This piece was included on the album, Gross Santa’s Yuletide Favorities – which is not as bizarre because it sounds – comply with the hyperlink! Musicians for One Voice got here from the Wooden Harbor Ensemble and the choir of St. Ann College Parish in Boston the place I served as a campus minister for Northeastern College and Emerson Faculty from 1982-1991. (Apparently, I actually am 75 years outdated!)
