A Harmony Pastor Feedback: NIGHT PRAYER: Monday 12/12

December 12 is the feast of Our Girl of Guadalupe who appeared to Juan Diego, a Mexican peasant, on whose tilma (cloak) there appeared a picture on the Blessed Virgin as he had seen her in a imaginative and prescient.  Learn extra of Juan Diego’s story here.

Designer Religion?

Bear in mind when a designer’s title and brand had been discretely and
neatly tucked away contained in the shirt or pants we wore?  Then it turned modern to sport an a
little alligator or polo participant proper on our chest for all to see.

Saint Juan Diego was a person greater than 5 centuries forward of
his time!  Or maybe we should always extra
straight and accurately credit score Our Girl of Guadalupe for imprinting her designed
picture on Juan’s tilma.  Right now you should buy t-shirts bearing simply
what appeared on Juan’s holy cloak – and even have the picture tattooed in your again or
shoulder!

However this is not about cloaks or tee shirts or physique artwork!

So, let’s pray…

What brand manufacturers my coronary heart, Lord?

my ideas, my phrases, my deeds?

I am made in your picture!

I am designed within the likeness of my Creator!

So I pray my life bear witness

to your imprint on my soul…

Stamp my coronary heart and mark it

with the grace and love and purity

of she who bore you in her womb,

    who mirrored in her being

the picture of your countenance,

    the spirit of your knowledge…

Could all who know me see, Lord,

how your mercy now has claimed me,

        refreshed me and restored me,

clothed me in your saving grace

and marked me as your individual…

Saint Juan Diego, pray for us!

Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe, ruega por nosotros!

Defend me, Lord, whereas I am awake

and watch over me whereas I sleep

that awake, I’d maintain watch with you

and asleep, relaxation in your peace…

Amen.

Tonight’s music is a lullaby (as stunning as it’s easy!)

sung in Juan Diego’s native indigenous Nahuatl language:

    Gently sleep, little Youngster.
Cry no extra, for the angels are right here.
    Alleluia.
