I wrote this prayer over 20 years in the past once I was performing some half time ministry in a jail. Over time I’ve posted it in a number of completely different variations. (What’s model new in ths submit is a good track I discovered!) I am posting this prayer once more morning as a result of in just a few days I will be seeing a buddy who simply got here residence after almost six years in jail. Whereas this prayer is all people aching for freedom of their hearts, please hold in your prayers to day our brothers and sisters who’re incarcerated.
A Prayer For Freedom In My Coronary heart
Give me freedom in my coronary heart, Lord,
once I’m feeling all locked up…
Give me freedom in my coronary heart
once I’m walled in by my loneliness…
Give me freedom in my coronary heart
once I’m imprisoned by my previous…
Give me freedom in my coronary heart
when anxious emotions jail my hope…
Give me freedom in my coronary heart
when bars of concern lock down my soul…
Give me freedom in my coronary heart
once I really feel sentenced to a day, to an evening
that has no finish…
Give me freedom in my coronary heart
once I’m the one who locked my cell
and holds the important thing in my very own pocket…
Give me freedom in my coronary heart
to listen to your phrase of pardon,
of mercy and forgiveness…
Give me freedom in my coronary heart, Lord,
to grow to be, finally,
