Pause for Prayer: FRIDAY 10/8

After Easter we provide the lilies in church
to any  who need to take them residence
and, with a prayer, plant the bulbs
with the hope they will rise in glory
subsequent spring…
However right here we’re and,
within the waning of abnormal time,
subsequent yr’s lilies have heard our prayer
and answered: budding, blooming,
bursting forth in glory!

And this, as fading leaves

start to lose their grip on summer time’s department
and fall, in spirals, to the bottom,
to the earth from which they got here and should return
as all issues do, as we will, too, till
that final springtime when all will rise and bloom
in glory by no means fading, in by no means ending peace…

Till then, Lord, we reward you, we thanks:
for October’s glimpse of Easter,
unbidden, surprising, undeserved,
pure reward of grace and mercy,
a pledge of all you promise:
peace for ever and for ever,
Amen, amen, amen!
