NIGHT PRAYER: Monday 10//11

In my a part of the world, Lord, at present’s a holiday
– even when people can not seem to agree
on what what and whom we’re celebrating…

However I am pondering tonight, praying tonight, Lord,
for all of the individuals who did not get a break day from work,
who had no respite from illness or grief,
fear and worry, doubt and confusion…

I am praying tonight, Lord,
for individuals who cannot take time without work
from violence and warfare,
from poverty, homelessness, starvation
from a thirst for clear water…

I herald my prayer this night, Lord,
those that had no break at present from loneliness,
no breather from disappointment,
no aid from the unhappiness that clouds their imaginative and prescient…

I am praying, Lord, for individuals who had no relaxation
    from their caring for others
        not in a position to look after themselves;
from their round the clock vigil
for these whose life has simply begun
and people now near the tip of their days…

And I am additionally praying for all these
who simply have a tough time slowing down,
taking it straightforward, letting go and
    stepping off their merry-go-round…
So, tonight I pray, Lord, go to all our hearts:
with a vacation of your presence,
a style of your timeless peace,
a sip out of your cup of pleasure,
your arms to carry our weary limbs,
your light contact to heal our ache
 and your Spirit’s grace, despatched
to make every day a vacation, a holy day,
blessed by the point we spend with you
who spend your time, all of your time, with us…

Shield us, Lord, whereas we’re awake
and watch over us whereas we sleep
that awake, we’d hold watch with you
and asleep, relaxation in your peace…
