Draw Your Focus Again: Psalm 23


“The LORD is my Shepherd, I shall not need.” Psalm 23:1

Amidst the main points and lists clamoring for my consideration, I discovered Psalm 23 working via my thoughts. So, I pushed apart the lists for a couple of minutes and wrote myself a prayer for my day based mostly on Psalm 23. It made a distinction in my perspective and in my sense of peace as I centered on God’s influence on my day.

Oh Lord, You’re my fixed information; my spirit receives from You all I want. You remind me to relaxation so I can discover non secular nourishment from You. You lead me to drink the refreshing water of Your Spirit by studying Your Phrase and letting it sink into my coronary heart and thoughts. After I do, my ideas and feelings are quieted. I’m lifted above the fray of numerous particulars and issues to search out renewed power and pleasure as I re-focus on You.

You lead me alongside the trail that’s proper, the trail that pulls reward to You and Your title. Even because the enemies of concern and fear, distraction and dread skirt round my path, You put together a feast for me; You invite me to sit down and be refreshed as You watch defensively over me. My coronary heart overflows as You are inclined to me.

With You as my fixed information, I can depend on Your goodness and mercy to be at my heels, each step of the best way. Thank You for Your power and Your refreshing presence that anchors me each right this moment and without end! Amen.
